The EU Launches a New Global Investment Platform to Support European Businesses Worldwide

In October 2025, the European Commission officially launched the Global Gateway Investment Hub, a strategic platform designed to strengthen the international presence of European businesses and investors. The initiative aims to connect EU companies with sustainable investment opportunities across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, while reducing market entry risks.

The Investment Hub places a strong emphasis on private sector engagement, particularly in areas such as clean energy, digital infrastructure, transport, health, education, and research. Through close cooperation with EU Delegations and local authorities, the platform supports companies with political backing, market intelligence, and access to key decision-makers in partner countries.

Rather than functioning solely as a development instrument, the Global Gateway Investment Hub is positioned as a business-oriented tool, helping European companies scale internationally and integrate into global value chains while maintaining EU standards on sustainability and transparency.
